Grays Kitchen is a neighbourhood café nestled on Kingsway in Bristol’s BS5 area, ideal for anyone looking for a straightforward, reliably good breakfast spot. The vibe here leans into casual comfort, attracting locals who appreciate a familiar place to start their day or catch up over a steady cuppa. It’s the kind of café where the staff know their regulars, and the service feels efficient without being rushed.

The menu leans heavily on classic British breakfast fare—with highlights like a Medium Breakfast, Full English, and Eggs Benedict—alongside crowd-pleasers such as a Cheese Tom and Pesto Toastie or a Chilli Cheese Jacket Potato. Whether you’re after a solid veggie option or feeding little ones with the Kids Breakfast, there’s enough variety to keep different appetites happy. Their tea service is distinctive too, typically served with the tea bag left in the mug, allowing drinkers to tailor their brew. For the cold months or just when you want something indulgent, the Deluxe Hot Chocolate gets a lot of local love.

People tend to swing by most often in the mornings but the place has the unhurried air of somewhere you could easily spend a quiet afternoon, especially if you’re looking to escape the busier parts of Bristol. The atmosphere keeps in step with the neighbourhood’s down-to-earth character—friendly staff ensure orders come out just as requested, and the reasonably priced menu means a good breakfast won’t break the bank.

If you live nearby or are passing through, Grays Kitchen serves as a solid option for a cooked breakfast that hits the right notes on portion and flavour without fuss. It’s particularly good for anyone who values a friendly, no-frills café where the food is consistently prepared well and the service feels genuinely welcoming.

Living locally (3 minutes walk) I've been aware of Grays since it opened. Thought I'd drop in for breakfast; verdict? Absolute top notch! Delicious veggie breakfast at a reasonable price, tea is served with the bag still in the mug so you can brew to your taste and add milk as you please, very well done Girls, wishing you the success you deserve, you lot out there get in here!

We now have Friday breakfast there every week having tried other places in the past and our group has grown from three of us 3 years ago and now can be up to 9 people having full English breakfast The food always comes altogether and is absolutely gorgeous, hot and delicious, served with a smile . At times we have asked for extras and they have been done with no fuss and quickly. Sometimes we treat ourselves to homemade cake and biscuits just to finish. As I always post pictures on Facebook more friends have tried to have Friday morning off to come and join us
